Straight talk: We shoot with the Sony Alpha 1 in the studio, one of the best cameras on the market as a reflection of the hearts of the community. With Ai you know it is the right call when constraints are in place — it is not the same experience as attending the studio session but you'll get great results both routes.

How to shoot the best shots with your phone to get quality Ai headshots.
Walk over to an open window. Daylight from the front is all you need. Don't worry about what is behind you as the background will be removed when your headshots are generated. You need at least 3 photos, and up to 12 gives the AI more range to work with and I'll explain though the steps. The More you have the closer the images will look to your likeness.
- Center alignment, eye level. Hold the phone at arm's length, at the same height as your eyes. Zoom in so your face to your heart fill most of the frame. Keep a neutral, relaxed expression — no smile yet.
- 25 degrees to the left. Turn your head and shoulders slightly left, about a 25 degree angle from the camera. Keep eye contact with camera, arm's length, showing your heart and your face in the frame. Relaxed.
- 25 degrees to the right. Repeat the same angle turning to the right. Relaxed face still keeping eye contact.
- Smile, no teeth. Run the same three angles again — center, left 25 degrees, right 25 degrees — this time with a closed-mouth smile. think the mona lisa, in art institutions it's called an archaic smile. essentially a little tension on both sides of the mouth to bring it into a soft smile without showing any teeth.
- Biger smile. Run the three angles one final time with a full, genuine smile, even if it feels a little goofy. This range is what lets the AI build an accurate, natural-looking headshot.
